Adekunle Gold has released Fuji Xtra, a five-track deluxe extension of his sixth studio album, Fuji, with his long-awaited first collaboration with Olamide leading the project’s new direction.
The extended project is now available on all streaming platforms and adds five new songs to the original body of work. It includes ‘Formation’ featuring Olamide, ‘Shake Shake’ with TML Vibez, ‘Blue Fire’ featuring Simi, as well as two solo records, ‘Life of the Faaji’ and ‘I Got Wiser On My Own.’
‘Formation’ stands out as a major moment on the project, marking the first official collaboration between Adekunle Gold and Olamide despite their shared history. Olamide famously signed Gold to YBNL Nation in 2016 after his breakout single ‘Sade’ went viral.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Gold said, “We always said the moment had to be right. Formation felt like that moment. It represents the future of Fuji music.”
The original Fuji album, released in late 2025, was built around the traditional Fuji sounds of Lagos, reimagined through modern Afropop influences. Gold has described the project as an acronym for “Finding Uncharted Journeys Inside.”
