Super Eagles captain and defender, William Troost-Ekong (M.O.N) was the star of the night for his Greek club side, Paok FC, as he scored the tiebreaker in their UCL first-leg match against Borac Banja Luka.
Troost-Ekong netted the decisive goal for Paok FC in the 51st minute to seal his side’s 3-2 win over Borac.
The Super Eagles defender made his impressive competitive debut for the Greek team this season after sustaining a season-ending injury the previous season.
In the end, Troost Ekong’s strike proved to be the game’s winning goal, giving his team a slim lead going into next week’s second leg of the Champions League qualifying series in Bosnia.
This would be the very first goal from William Troost-Ekong since he moved to Paok FC last season.
He dedicated the goal to his son whose 6th birthday was the same day as the match.
“Happy 6th birthday my boy. That one was for you”, the CAF Player of the Tournament wrote.
