Lagos, Nigeria – July 14, 2024 – Nigerian singer Chima has been crowned the winner of the ninth season of Nigerian Idol. The announcement was made during the show’s finale on Sunday.
Chima beat out fellow finalists Lammy and Chioma to clinch the coveted title. As the winner, he walks away with a grand prize of N30 million, a brand-new SUV, a record deal, and a video shoot.
The star-studded finale featured performances from Simi, Chike, and past Nigerian Idol champions Progress and Victory Gbakara. Additionally, judge Omawunmi delivered a special thank-you performance alongside the evicted contestants.
This season of Nigerian Idol, hosted by IK Osakioduwa, premiered in April and featured judges 9ice, Omawumi, and Ric Hassani. The 2024 edition, themed “Dare to Dream,” aired live for eight weeks, from April 21 to July 14.
