Nigerian journalist and media entrepreneur, Chude Jideonwo, has been appointed as the Creative-in-Residence at the prestigious London School of Economics (LSE).
Chude shared the news on his Instagram page today, June 3, 2024. He explained that years ago, he decided to focus on his work and let his achievements speak for themselves, rather than actively seeking fellowships or residencies.
Having been associated with Yale and Oxford, Jideonwo stopped applying for such opportunities, hoping to be invited based on his work’s impact. He expected this to take about a decade but was content with waiting and focusing on his work.
In his announcement, Jideonwo highlighted how this appointment serves as a powerful affirmation from the universe amid moments of doubt. He expressed his honor and gratitude for the opportunity and looked forward to collaborating with LSE’s faculty, students, and networks to advance the growth of the creative economy across Africa.
