Certain women have demonstrated a high-level of playing skills in the Nigerian Football Sector. Some of these women are:

Asisat Lamina Oshoala: She was born on the 9th of October 1994 and she has played for the Nigerian team several times. She is a professional footballer who has made waves not only in the Nigerian sports sector, bit also in the international sphere as she now plays in FC Barcelona Femeni. Asisat has won several awards, one of which is the best player and highest goal scorer award at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Francisca Ordega: She is a Nigerian professional footballer born on 19th October, 1993. She played at the Nigeria Women’s Championship and in 2012, she left Nigeria to play for the Russian Women’s Football Championship. Even though she spent the last playing season in China, the footballer has revealed her intentions and dreams to play as an Arsenal player in future.

Onome Ebi: She was born on the 8th of May, 1983 and she is a member of the Nigerian National team. She is the first African Footballer to play in fiveย FIFA World Cup Tournaments, taking part in the 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019 editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Desire Oparanozie: She was born on the 17th of December 1993 and she has since been a member of Nigerian National Team since 2010 as she participated in the FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments of 2011, 2015 and 2019. She was once praised by the coach, Thomas Dennerby for her discipline and good character in April, 2019.

Perpetua Nkwocha: As a member of the Nigerian national team, Perpetua has participated in seven CAF Women’s Championship Editions. She has also participated in four FIFA Women’s World Cup as well as some Olympic tournaments. She was born on the 3rd of January, 1976.

Ngozi Okobi: She was born on the 14th of December, 1993 and she has been playing for the Nigerian team since 2008 under the under-17 squad. Not only that, she was immediately called up to be part of the senior team after the U-17 tournament.

Mercy Akide: She was born on the 26th August, 1975. Mercy has played for Nigeria in three FIFA Women’s World Cups which has earned her the title FIFA gave her as one of its 15 Ambassadors for Women Football.

Josephine Chukwunonye: She was born on the 19th March, 1992. She started playing for Nigeria as an Under-17 team and then she graduated to the Under-20 team. She participated in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2011 and 2015 and the Africa Women’s Championship.
