Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana has asked the Federal Governement to lift the suspension of on the Chief Justice, Walter Onnoghen, while the Chief Justice should do the “needful” and resign by himself.
Falana was speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He asked the CJN to quit the bench in as much as he had admitted that he failed to declare his assets.
He said: “The government should as a matter of urgency, lift the suspension on the Chief Justice since the Chief Justice as so much to on his own admitted that he did not declare his assets, he should do the needful by calling it quits”.
He also said the Court of Appeal cannot stop the CCT from performing its duty, and stressed that both the federal government and the Chief Justice erred in the matter.
