In a week which will be remembered as one of the worst in terms of terror attacks in Nigeria, a bomb blast hit Kaduna today, reportedly killing 25 people.
The bomb blast was reportedly at the Dagorara secretariat, Sabon Gari local government area of Kaduna today. Reports indicate that a female suicide bomber carrying a bag detonated the deadly explosives.
The Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, immediately issued a directive banning hawkers and beggars from the streets.
The media aide to the governor, Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement statement: “All beggars and hawkers are to stay off the streets until further notice. Any beggar or hawker found on the streets will be arrested until these measures are relaxed”.
Although no group has taken responsibility for the attacks, it is assumed that the fundamentalist group Boko Haram is behind this latest spate of violence.
