The year 2014 has been declared the hottest year in the history of Earth, giving fresh concerns about global warming and the perceived improvements experts claim were made.
Scientists reported that extreme heat and some record low temperatures hit Alaska and many other European countries.
2010 was previously the hottest year recorded by scientists since temperatures have been recorded since 1880.
According to Stefan Rahmstorf, head of earth system analysis at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany “However, the fact that the warmest years on record are 2014, 2010 and 2005 clearly indicates that global warming has not ‘stopped in 1998,’ as some like to falsely claim.”
