Majek Fashek first gained national fame on a television show in the early 1980s as a member of Benin-based reggae group Jastix. His bandmates included Ras Kimono and Amos McRoy Gregg. They toured for many years with fellow reggae group The Mandators. In 1988, shortly after Jastix disbanded, he began a solo career and quickly became the best-known reggae artist in Nigeria.
His song “Send Down The Rain” was a hit, and he won six US-based PMAN Music Awards. In the past, he was known as a drug addict and his health was unstable.
Recently, he attended a service in Pastor J T Kalejaiye’s church, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Overcomers Assembly, Abule Odu, Egbeda, Lagos for a prayer session i guess but from the picture above, it looks like an altar call. Majek Fashek still needs our help, prayers etc.. He needs to recover well. May all his prayers be answered.
Call to Action: We should all celebrate him now while he is still alive. Majek Fashek remains an icon in Nigeria/ Africa.
