Multiple award-winning music diva, Janet Jackson is reportedly expecting her first child at age 49.
The singer who will turn 50 on May 16 is married to 41-year-old Arab billionaire, WissamAl Mana and the couple are expecting their first child together, a source revealed to E! News.
A close source to the couple told the news publication on Wednesday, May 4 that Janet is in her second trimester of pregnancy. The source also disclosed that the youngest of the Jackson family and her husband have been working with a fertility specialist for a while.
The news come after Janet had postponed her ‘Unbreakable World Tour’ last month to ‘start a family’.
‘We’re in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change,’ Jackson explained in a video posted to Twitter on April 6. ‘I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour,’she had said at the time.
This is sure to be a welcomed news to Janet who had previously nursed an intention of adopting a child, as she told Harper’s Bazaar in an interview, ‘Sure, I’d adopt. And I think that if I’m really supposed to have kids, it will happen, if that’s God’s plan for me’.
The couple have been married since 2012.
