American interior designer and fashion icon, Iris Apfel has passed on at the age of 102.
The octogenarian fashionista spent decades working in the textile business until her unique sense of style catapulted her to celebrity at the age of 80.
Apfel’s death was confirmed by her commercial agent, Lori Sale, who referred to her as “extraordinary.” No cause of death was given. On Friday, it was also revealed on her verified Instagram page that February 29, 2024 signified her 102nd and a half birthday, which had been celebrated the day before.
