On a recent episode of The Nancy Isime Show, Nollywood actor, Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, better known as Taymesan, bravely recounted the traumatic experiences of bullying he endured during his formative years.
The actor revealed how he transformed those painful moments into motivation, ultimately shaping him into the person he is today.
Taymesan, accompanied by popular influencer, Enioluwa, shared the emotional journey of battling incessant trolling that severely impacted his self-esteem. Recollecting his school days in Warri, Temeisan recalled arriving at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) with high hopes of popularity and acceptance, given his undeniable talent. However, he faced relentless trolling that shattered his confidence and left him questioning his place among peers.
Opening up about the distressing period, Taymesan said, “I don’t think I have ever said this anywhere; but growing up, I was really trolled. I was trolled to the point where my self-esteem was on the floor.”
Despite the challenges he faced, Taymesan embraced adversity as a catalyst for personal growth and embarked on a journey of self-improvement. He decided to focus on honing his skills and worked tirelessly to prove his worth. “So, this is me coming into UNILAG as one of the most talented persons back in my school in Warri. And when I got into school, I didn’t understand why they were trolling me. I really wanted to be a popular-jingo, be everybody’s guy. But that didn’t happen. So, I was doing only church and just my school works,” he shared.
However, UNILAG served as a turning point in Taymesan’s life, offering a transformative experience that helped him rise above his past struggles. The actor expressed profound gratitude for the challenges he faced, as they served as a wellspring of inspiration to push beyond his limits. “One of the things I’m very grateful for is that those things happened. Because it inspired me to do more. If I were working on a scale of 100, I did 200. I had too much to prove. But my turning point was… UNILAG changed me, I cannot even lie. And this is the first time I’m saying it anywhere,” he revealed.
