Popular Nigerian actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, widely recognized as Aki, has expressed his distress regarding the escalating prevalence of online begging. Taking to Instagram, the renowned actor bemoaned the multitude of individuals infiltrating his Direct Message (DM) inbox in search of financial assistance.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Aki revealed that he had received audacious requests, including one solicitation for $35,000 and another for $12,000. The actor, visibly incensed, emphasized that these exorbitant monetary appeals were not exclusive to Nigerians alone.
Appealing to social media users, Aki urged them to recognize that celebrities also shoulder their own responsibilities and cannot fulfill every request, particularly during these trying times.
‘’This is getting out of hand. How can you people turn my DM to Bank of Industry? If I open my DM is always ‘’Oga please, please, please’ Jesus! It is too much. The way you guys beg it is like we do not have responsibilities. If I start to share the money like that it will finish.
Imagine somebody was begging me for $35, 000. That is how much in Naira? Approximately twenty-something Million. Another one was asking me for $12, 000 that he wants to pen a shop. The problem is even that it is not just Nigerians.” he said.
