Here’s a recap of day 3 panel sessions of #AFRICANXT2023 Conference

Let’s throwback to the just concluded AfricaNXT conference that had tech enthusiasts, founders, startups, entrepreneurs, policymakers and a broad range of industry stakeholders who engaged in a solution-focused dialogue to chart the path for a sustainable Africa.

Here is a recap of some of day three’s panel sessions at the #AFRICANXT2023 Conference.

SESSION: African Kids Tales on Virtual Reality
Moderator- Wofai Egu Ewa
Speakers: Fred Allison, Kam Enenmoh, Enimien E Inegbedion, and Enem Emeka “Ajebo“

This session shed light on the uncharted world of creating wholesome content for Nigerian kids using virtual reality.
The speakers spoke on the importance of creating authentic content for kids whilst leveraging humor.

Also, the importance of localizing content for kids in other to promote our cultural heritage wasn’t left out. This is because kids relate more to content when you bring it home.

The speakers spoke on how telling African tales through VR has impacted Nigeria’s creative industry as VR has given new generation kids who were not opportune to experience our culture, the opportunity to do so.

Lastly, they buttressed that there’s already a global market waiting for more content to come, through VR, hence the use of VR is a great medium for African content creators to be in the global space and lead the space in creating content people can consume.

African Kids Tales on Virtual Reality

SESSION: Building Tech Communities: A Catalyst For Business And Personal Growth.
Moderator- Fawzyyah Danmole
Speakers: Kelvin Umechukwu, Haneefah Abdulrahman Lekki, and Salem King.

This session was moderated by Fawzyyah Danmole and had speakers, Kelvin Umechukwu, Haneefah Abdulrahman Lekki, and Salem King talking about the importance and opportunities one can get from creating a community.

The session keyed in on being intentional when creating a community by deep thinking on how you can impact or give value to your community as communities form around impact, shared interest, and values.

Lastly, the speakers advised building a community to solve a problem rather than financial gains because you will be frustrated easily.

Fawzyyah Danmole, Kelvin Umechukwu, Haneefah Abdulrahman Lekki, and Salem King

SESSION: Crisis Communications: Managing Crisis and PR for African Tech Startups and Organizations.
Moderator: Claudine Moore
Speakers: David Idagu, Japheth Omojuwa, and Damilare Dosunmu

Crisis Communications: Managing Crisis and PR for African Tech Startups and Organizations moderated by Claudine Moore with David Idagu, Japheth Omojuwa, and Damilare Dosunmu had them sharing their experience on crisis communication and management.

The panel educates that crisis should not be seen always as negative, instead it should be leveraged on showing people the true test of your organization’s integrity.

The speakers also hammered on the need to anticipate a crisis before it happens to avoid being caught unaware.

Organizations should figure out which social media platforms their highest believability would come from in case of crisis and start from that strong position, as it filters to every other platform.

The speakers advised that as an organization you must build a strong bank of goodwill as it will help come in handy if a crisis emerges.

Claudine Moore, David Idagu, Japheth Omojuwa, and Damilare Dosunmu

SESSION: Live As A Tool To Elevate Entertainment In Nigeria.
Moderator: Alake Motolani
Speakers: Abigail Okala, Asa Asika, Sasha P, and Tobi Mohammed

This session was eye-opening as the panel revealed the major challenge ‘Live Entertainment’ is facing in Nigeria, which is how the government is unsupportive. The session also talked about how live events are changing the narrative of Africa, fueling cross-border collaboration, and creating pathways to prosperity for creatives.

Speaking on the biggest takeaway from where Live entertainment is right now, Sasha P talked about Live Entertainment as being one of the most prominent types of entertainment in Nigeria for years. Live Entertainment has been the same as it was before, the only thing that has changed is better technology.

Live As A Tool To Elevate Entertainment In Nigeria

In conclusion, AfricaNXT has and will always be the best way to connect and learn from industry leaders who have been able to navigate their way in their various industry. The Africa NXT experience is priceless.
