Tokyo Olympics: Athletes Investigated For Drinking Alcohol, Violating Covid-19 Rules
Some group of atheletes were found drinking alcohol in a park, at the Olympic village on Friday, thus violating Covid-19 measures of spreading the virus.
Tokyo 2020 CEO Toshiro Muto, have said in a conference that the group were caught in the park drinking alcohol; the police were invited and the game organisers are investigating the athletes.
Muta, however, did not give any details of the athletes that were found violating the rules and their numbers.
He said “We are looking into the matter. We will take appropriate steps based on our findings”.
The athlete were said to be allowed to drink and party but only in their room and when they are alone for Covid-19 restrictions.
They have been placed under tight social distancing measures because of the pandemic, and have been subject to daily testing and restricted movements.
