The Tiamin Rice Mill Production had previously filed a fundamental rights action against the Kano State Government, the Insepctor-General of Police and NSCDC for allegedly closing the rice production facility without seeking a court order. After the failure of the respondents to defend their actions despite the service of several hearing notices on them, the court entered into a judgement against the respondents and for Tiamin Rice Mill Production.
The Kano State Government, however applied to the Court and prayed that the court should set aside its judgment in unsealing the Tiamin Rice Production facility of which the Court declined jurisdiction and hinted the counsel for the Kano State Government to take the matter to the Appeal Court.
Hence, the Kano State Government has withdrawn its application which has led to the reopening of the Tiamin Rice Mill Production in the State.
