The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the September 2018 election in Osun State; Ademola Adeleke, against the victory election of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC). 
The court maintained that the proceedings and the majority judgment of the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal which declared the PDP as the winner of the poll were null and void. They also maintained that Justice Obiora did not participate in the February 6, 2019 proceedings of the tribunal which “was based on conjecture”.
