The Code of Conduct Tribunal has ordered the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Security Service to arrest the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen after he failed to show up in court.
Onnoghen was absent again at the tribunal for his case of non-declaration of asset.
President Buhari suspended Onnoghen in January and replaced him with the Supreme Court’s second in command, Tanko Muhammad in an acting capacity. The President said he made the decision based on the advice of the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
After he failed to show up in court again, the three judges of the Court of Appeal ordered the securities agencies to produce him at the tribunal on Friday.

?The CCT made the order following an application by the lead prosecuting counsel, Aliyu Umar (SAN), who said the consistent absence of the CJN from the CCT was a violation of provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.
