Kim Kardashian and Ms. Alice Marie Johnson at Thanksgiving.
“I’m so thankful that Ms. Alice Johnson gets to enjoy Thanksgiving this year with her family: God is so good,” she wrote.
Earlier this year Kim Kardashian played a vital role in having Alice Marie Johnson’s life sentence commuted.
Alice Marie Johnson was convicted of drug trafficking in 1996 for her involvement in a Memphis cocaine trafficking organization, she was sentenced to life imprisonment.
In June 2018, after serving 21 years in prison, Johnson was released from the Federal Correctional Institution, Aliceville, after President Donald Trump commuted her sentence at the urging of Kim Kardashian.
Kim Kardashian who first saw a video about the case on social media took it up and visited the White House with her lawyer, Shawn Holley, and had also linked up with Mr Trump’s son-in-law and presidential adviser, Jared Kushner, who has been lobbying for prison reform.
Her case was highlighted and she was finally released.
