The producers of the African Global DJ Awards, a non-profit
Organization that is created to recognize and celebrate the talent of
the greatest DJ’s in Africa and Diaspora, announced today that the
first annual AGDA Awards, scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 4,
2013 has been postponed.
Spokesperson for the awards Olutokun “Kimani” Esther confirmed that
the producers and organizers of the awards have agreed to postpone the
dates of the ceremony, from the initially announced date of 04 May
2013 to the soon to be confirmed date.
The planned production of the awards ceremony is of international
stature and the technical requirements and budget needed to stage the
event will only be available in a few weeks. Moving the awards a few
weeks out will give us ample time to put together the caliber of event
that the producers are looking to achieve. While the AGDA Awards
production crew is capable of staging the awards ceremony on the May
the 4th, the technical requirements to stage this mind blowing event
cannot be ignored. All our existing partners have been informed of the
new development and have approved the move.
The executive producers of the show would like to thank everyone that
bought into the idea of uniting Africans through music for the
unwavering support and promises to deliver an exceptional award
ceremony at a later date.
A press conference is scheduled for 02 May 2013 at the Maslow Hotel
(Grayston & Rivonia Road) in Sandton at 11am to address further media
questions and announce the new date.
