Fellaini signs new two year contract with Manchester United
Belgian midfielder, Marrouane Fellaini has signed a new two year contract with Manchester United.
Fellaini’s united deal was due to expire this weekend and according to various report. Arsenal and a Turkish were interested in his signature.
The hold up with the deal was due to the fact United initially offered him a one year contract, but have now increased it to two with an option for a further year. It now looks as if that was enough to convince the Belgian to put pen to paper to stay at Old thradford.
The 30-year old who is currently on duty at the World Cup with Belgium said:
“I am pleased to be continuing my journey as a Manchester United player,” he told United’s website.
“I made this decision because I am very happy here. Also, I feel like this team, under Jose, still has a lot we want to achieve.
“I would like to say a special thank you to Jose (Mourinho) for the faith he has always shown in me.”
Fellaini joined United from Everton in 2013, making 156 appearances and scoring 20 goals.
