Generations Actress Manaka Ranaka believed to be facing culpable homicide charge
Reports reaching us from Johannesburg says law enforcement agencies are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a young woman was knocked down and killed in a car crash near Alberton on Friday.
Gauteng Police have refused to confirm newspaper reports that Manaka Ranaka, who plays the character of Lucy Diale in Generations: The Legacy, has been linked to the incident.
According to the Sowetan, Ranaka was travelling to Durban over the weekend when she ran over the 18-year old who was crossing the R554 road to Leondale near the N3 to Durban when Manaka knocked into her with her red BMW.
The police’s Lungelo Dlamini says the case will be taken up by the director of public prosecutions.
“At this stage we are taking statements, once the case has been finalised it will be taken to the Director of Public Prosecutions for a decision.”
