It’s official! Jeff is MTN Project Fame 8.0 ‘The Next’ winner. Jeff’s emergence was the fitting climax of the grand finale of West Africa’s biggest music talent hunt competition which featured performances from A-list artistes alongside the six finalists. He joins the likes of Iyanya, iMike, Chidinma, Monica, Olawale, Ayoola, Geoffrey on the MTN Project Fame’s Hall of Fame.
As opposed to previous seasons where contestants had to do their own composition at the grand finale, each of the six contestants was paired with top Nigerian artistes to perform performed ‘Kedike. Anderson shared the stage with Praiz to perform ‘Rich and Famous,’ while the energetic Deinde and Kukere crooner, Iyanya, thrilled the audience with the remix of ‘Oreo’. Arewa and 9ice electrified the stage with their rendition of ‘Gongo Aso,’ while Ada and Sound Sultan did a remix of ‘Motherland’. Interestingly, all the songs performed on the night will be released as singles and will be available for download for members of the public.
For Jeff, it was a victory well deserved. Though, the youngest amongst the six finalists, the Kogi State born surmounted the odds to become the MTN Project Fame 8.0 winner as well as the youngest winner in the history of the competition through hard work, diligence and focus. Jeff, who escaped the dreaded eviction throughout the competition walked away with N5 million as well as a brand new SUV and a recording contract worth millions of naira.
Pearl Awa-Agwu, Emmanuel Anderson and, Adanoritsewo Gold Tosanwumi were voted as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd runners up. While Pearl got N3 million and a brand new saloon car, Anderson got a saloon car and N2 million. Ada, got N2 million while Arewa and Deinde got N1 million and N500, 000 respectively.
