As part of the Shuga tradition of including hot and happening contemporary artistes in the series, Iyanya and Ice Prince will both play themselves in most of the scenes set at the Badoo nightclub, a regular hangout for the casts in Shuga. In the last season of Shuga, EME label mates, Banky W and WizKid were featured in the series with Kenyan star, Nameless who featured in the first season of Shuga.
Ice Prince who expressed his excitement during one of his shoots said, “I am so grateful to the MTV Staying Alive team for offering the opportunity to continue to express myself in new and different ways as an actor in Shuga.”
“I am so thrilled to be associated with Shuga and to have this chance to help the MTV Staying Alive team communicate important public health messages in this exciting way.” Iyanya also commented after his campaign.
Ice Prince and Iyanya will join the star-studded Shuga cast which includes Maria Okanrende, Tiwa Savage, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Okezie Morro, Chris Attoh, Emmanuel Ikubese, Nick Mutuma, Leonora Okine, Sharon Chisom Ezeamaka, James Timini Egbuson, Kachi Nnochiri, Olumide Oworu, Ugbeye Owumi, Sani Mu’azu, Bikiya Graham-Douglas, KC Ejelonu, Efa Iwara, Don Flexy, Ehis Okoeguale, Silo Emem Bankole and Charles Ukpong.
Shuga – Lagos will premiere on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) on 1 December 2013 (World AIDS Day) and will subsequently air on multiple TV and digital platforms around the world.
