Few weeks ago, all shareholders of Etisalat Nigeria pulled out of the company due to a N531 billion debt and were given 3 weeks to change its name within 3 weeks.
A close source to the company disclose that the company may opt for the name 9Mobile adding that management may change its mind.
A new board was also appointed at the company to handle the smooth transition of the telecommunications company after a reallocation of shares.
Former Celtel (now Airtel) Nigeria Deputy Managing Director Boye Olusanya was recently appointed as the Chief Executive Officer to oversee the transition.
Etisalat, which has more than 21 million subscribers, had earlier announced that name change will not affect its operations.
