BBC World News Focus On Africa producer and presenter Sophie Ikenye is mourning the death of her father Stephen Uno, who hails from Matathia area.
The former NTV news anchor revealed the sad news but did not give details on what led to the death of her dad.
Sophie shared the sad news, revealing why she chose to share such personal information on social media, adding it was meant to honor her late father.
”I don’t post much about my family but I’d like you to know that my dad rests in peace now . He has fulfilled the purpose for which he was created. He taught us many things, one of which is to be strong and the other to be honest in this life. Till we meet again. Thank you for your prayers over my family.”
Sophie Ikenye is one of the renowned media personalities in Kenya, having worked in the industry for more than a decade before she moved to London after landing a job as a presenter/producer with BBC World News Focus On Africa.
Sophie was named by African Awards in 2016 as among 100 Most Influential Young Africans.
