To mark the 30th anniversary of the longest running Nigerian event in the UK, the Nigerian Corner at the Notting Hill Carnival London will this year transform into LAGOS CORNER, featuring performing artistes on stage, comedians, Nigerian food and more.
Lagos Corner will take place on Monday 29th August 2016 at the world famous annual Notting Hill Carnival in West London. This is part of the LOVE LAGOS WEEKEND happening around London from the 27th to 29th August 2016. An initiative in partnership with the Lagos State Government in order to showcase and promote the Lagos Brand on the world stage and attract Tourism and investment. Starting with a Lagos State Town Hall Meeting, a platform for interaction with Lagos State indigenes and lovers of Lagos State in the Diaspora, plus two shows, I Laff with MC Abbey and Julius Agwu’s Crack Ya Ribs, then the Lagos Corner at the Carnival.
The Producer of the main event, Ayo Shonaiya of The RMG Company promises a great show for all Nigerians this year “This is a special edition, and although for this year it’s called the Lagos Corner, it’s still about Nigeria and Nigerians. We started this event in 1986, but the partnership with Lagos State means we can bring Lagos to London for a whole weekend”.
