A camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s) in Borno state has been attacked by two suicide bombers.
The twin bombings on Tuesday morning by suicide bombers suspected to be women has claimed 78 lives and has left scores injured.
The attack on the IDP camp in Dikwa was confirmed by officials yesterday. The attack is believed to have been carried out by Boko Haram.
Although the Nigerian government insists that Boko Haram has technically been defeated, the increasing scale of hit and run attacks point to the contrary.
Tuesday’s attack comes just a week after Boko Haram fighters attacked the town of Dalori and set houses on fire, killing 86 people.
