Usula Gauthier, of the French news magazine L’Obs has been expelled from China over an article critical of Beijing.
The Chinese government is not the most receptive to criticism and Gauthier’s article pointed fingers at Beijing for a policy putting Muslim Uighurs in Xianjiang at risk.
China demanded an official apology and a retraction from Gauthier which she failed to provide.
What followed was China’s refusal to renew Gauthier’s press card which means her visa will not be renewed.
