A Boko Haram attack in a village in Borno state has claimed 8 lives.
The attack took place on Christmas day as Boko haram fighters stormed Kimba village in Gur ward of Biu Local Government Area.
13 People were also abducted during the attack which reportedly took place at around 8:30 pm.
The attack comes just a few hours after the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen Tukur Burutai claimed that Boko Haram could no longer coordinate attacks.
Nigeria’s service chiefs were given a deadline of December 2015 to put an end to the activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria’s Northern region. Although the Army has largely stopped the terrorist group from annexing more territory, attacks on soft targets have increased.
