The Chairman of DAAR communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) earlier in the week.
His arrest was in connection with allegations that he was involved in laundering N2.1 billion meant for arms purchases under the Jonathan administration.
Although he has been held for a week, the EFCC has issued no formal charge against him. His counsel filed an exparte motion at the federal high court asking that he be granted bail.
Justice Gabriel Kolawole did not grant the relief sought by Dokpesi’s counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome but directed Ozekhome to put the EFCC on notice and slated December 14 as the new date to allow EFCC to show cause why Dokpesi shouldn’t be granted bail.
