The dashcam video of the shooting of a 17 year old boy by a Police Officer in Chicago became public.
Although the shooting took place last year, the video renewed public outcry over race relations and police brutality.
Officer Jason Van Dyke was shown shooting Laquan McDonald 16 times after Officers tried to get McDonald to drop a knife he was holding onto.
The Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emmanuel has announced the firing of Chicago police chief. Superintendent Garry F. McCarthy was asked to resign by the mayor after many believed that the Police force was involved in an elaborate cover up.
The Manager of Burger King claimed that the Police had erased video footage of the event from their cameras.
The Mayor also announced the establishment of a task force for Police accountability.
