Zee Cinema, Zee Network’s Hindi movie channel offering, showcasing the best of Indian Cinema generates great brand awareness and a high brand positioning in the island of Mauritius through the Canal+ distribution platform.
Canal+, which reaches across the Indian Ocean Islands, has engaged in vigorous brand awareness strategies to promote Zee Cinema among its viewers in the month of October and will continue to the month of November.
This Diwali the platform has decided to brand 15 of their showrooms in promotion of the Bollywood offerings. The main highlight being the Zee Cinema premier of Gulaab Gang. In addition to this over 10000 flyers with ZEE Channels highlights, amongst others, have been distributed in the different showrooms. In response to this action Zee TV Africas CEO Harish Goyal said “All the above activations verifies that the magic of Bollywood is beyond any screen!”
As a digital strategy Facebook posts were posted on the CANAL+ Facebook page highlighting Gulaab Gang and Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Web banners with Bollywood Promos were booked for one month. This featured on one of the most popular news websites on the island.
A Quiz related to Bollywood will be posted on Facebook during the upcoming weeks in which tickets to, Bollywood singer, Sanam Puri’s Mauritius tour are up for grabs. A video with the different blockbusters/serials/ reality shows will be posted on Canal’s official Facebook page, with excerpts from films like Shaukeens, Tanu weds Manu and I CAN THAT.
CANAL+ has also been sponsoring two Bollywood programmes on two different radio stations on the island: Radio Plus (the number one radio station) and TOP FM (with a high audience of Bollywood fans). Every week, the two VJs promote the different Bollywood highlights coming up on CANAL+.
Going beyond the traditional marketing mediums CANAL+ has organized two animations, spreading over two days with focus on Bollywood world. In these animation clips the audience are exposed to games and quizzes revolving around the Bollywood theme.
