Former National Security Adviser, Dasuki Sambo has been in and out of the news for three months.
A protracted and publicised siege of his residence by the DSS led to his arrest and allegations of illegal possession of firearms.
Two weeks ago, the charges against him were amended to include a charge of money laundering as a court judge eventually granted his motion for medical leave.
Dasuki had sought permission from the court to go on medical leave and the court ordered the DSS to release his travel documents.
Despite this, the DSS prevented Dasuki from traveling and his travails look to be far from over.
President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Dasuki’s arrest based on allegations that the former NSA awarded “phantom contracts” for arms deals worth a startling $2 bn.
He also allegedly asked the Central Bank to transfer $142.6 to a company in the US.
Dasuki has been placed under house arrest and it remains to be seen how long his situation continues.
