25-year old Susana Owono from Equatorial Guinea has been crowned Miss Black Africa UK 2015. The student from North London was chosen from 18 other finalists at the Grand Finale held at the Newham Town Hall on Saturday, the 10th of October 2015.
Susana plans to be an advocate for child literacy and wants to start a charity program in her home country, Equatorial Guinea.
She said in her own words, “ I am ecstatic to become Miss Black Africa am I am looking forward to using this platform to pursue my goals and make my voice heard”.
Miss Black Africa Director, Dele Onabowu said that the finalists this year were quite strong contenders and almost all of them were worthy of the crown.
Ghanaian, Cherelle Hammond was 1st runner up and Christianah Onwuzuruoha fron Nigeria was 2ndrunner up.

Miss Black Africa was founded in 2011 and past queens have been from Zimbabwe, Angola and Nigeria. Miss black Africa UK 2015 was sponsored by Ethiopian Airlines.
