A suicide bombing at a peace rally in Ankara claimed the lives of 97 people, leaving 200 injured.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for Saturday’s attack, Turkish Prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu has pointed fingers at the Islamic State and Levant (ISIL) group.
Elections are scheduled to hold in Turkey on November 1 where President Recep Erdogan will be hoping to capture a majority for the AK party.
Davutoglu told the Turkish national television,”If you consider the way the attack happened and the general trend of it, we have identified Islamic State as the primary focus,”
ISIL is yet to claim responsibility for the attack. Turkey has had to deal with terrorism in recent times following a blast at an order town in Suruc.
Turkey has since responding by carrying out airstrikes against PKK forces in Syria.
