The Presidency has ordered an investigation into allegations of financial impropriety at the EFCC.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and it’s chairman are in the spotlight following allegations that the EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Lamorde cannot account for some of the cash seized by the agency.
Reports suggest that the discreet investigation is being carried out by the NSA. The EFCC has seemingly received a new breath of life in recent times following a largely lethargic performance in the last eight years.
President Muhammadu Buhari has made public his determination to prosecute corrupt public officials and the EFCC have opened cases against former Jigawa state governor as well as Ikedi Ohakim.
It is unclear as of now as to whether the president intends to shake up the leadership of the EFCC.
