Pope Francis met with inmates of Curran-Fromhold, the Philadelphia prison today even as his visit to the United States ends today. He met with 100 inmates at Philadelphia’s largest prison and encouraged them on positive outcomes for the future.
“May you make possible new opportunities, new journeys, new paths,” Francis said in his speech to the inmates. “All of us have something we need to be cleansed of, or purified from.”
Pope Francis has established a reputation as a “Pope of the poor” and his visit to the United States saw him speak at the United Nations General Assembly as well as the 9/11 memorial.
