13 migrants making their way to Greece from Turkey died today after the dinghy they were traveling in collided with a ferry in Turkey.
Turkish coastguard have confirmed the incident and revealed that it occurred near the port of Canakkale as the boat was on its way to the Greek island of Lesbos.
As many as 26 people have been reported missing after the incident as casualties mount as a direct result of the migrant crisis. Millions of migrants are desperately making their way from Syria to Europe even as Europe struggles to cope with the surge.
Some of the casualties of today’s accident includes children even as the Turkish coastguard continues rescue operations.
