The Senate President is not having the easiest of times. He is expected to face a 13 count charge brought against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau and his trial at the Code of conduct Tribunal is expected to begin today.
The Senate President filed an ex-parte motion urging the court to stop the CCB as well as the Federal Ministry of justice from going ahead with the trial.
The Federal High Court in a ruling by Justice Ahmed Mohammed directed that all respondents be put on notice to appear before the court on Monday. Bukola Saraki is accused of committing, among others, offences ranging from anticipatory declaration of assets to making false declaration of assets in forms he filed before the Code of Conduct Bureau while serving as governor of Kwara State.
His trial is slated to begin today.
