Liverpool has officially announced the signing of Taiwo Awoniyi , the 18-year-old Nigerian striker. On the flip side, however, Taiwo but won’t be playing for Liverpool this season as he’s being immediately sent out on loan to Frankurt, who are currently into Bundesliga.
At first glance, it would feel weird but in the case of the Nigerian U23 international striker, Awoniyi, it kinda makes perfect sense, as the Premier League is a whole new level. It’s a world away from the level he’s been playing at in Nigeria.
The striker, according to the Echo, was signed for an initial fee of around £800,000 which could eventually rise to £3m once add-ons and bonuses are accounted for. This is, undoubtedly, a major break through for one of own own!
