Pope Francis is on a six day visit to three African countries in his first official visit to Africa.
He arrived Nairobi yesterday as he spoke of Peace and forgiveness in the Kenyan capital. He is also billed to visit Uganda and Central African Republic.
In his address today, he condemned illegal trade in ivory and diamonds.
“We cannot be silent about forms of illegal trafficking which arise in situations of poverty and in turn lead to greater poverty and exclusion,” Pope Francis said.
His address also touched on the climate and the need for collective responsibility as he celebrated mass with university students.
