Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, has acknowledged the peaceful conduct of the recently held governorship election in the state as an act of prayer, while also calling on more from religious bodies for the interest of the current economic recession hitting hard on the country.
The Governor said this when the General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, paid him a courtesy visit at Government House.
He said, “In our state, we have a brand new Oba, in the person of Oba Ewaure II, and a brand new leadership. We believe that with this programme, Showers of Blessing, God’s hand is in Edo, and as a state we would want to tap from the anointing.
“Though we have recession in the country now, we believe it will end. We want you to pray for the state and the country so that the recession will end.”
“We appreciate your prayers during the last governorship election in the state. It is the first time in the history of the state that election was conducted peacefully without any recorded incidence of violence.
“We will continue to rely on your prayers and counsel.”
