Ifeanyi Chris Oputa, LSETF, NAPTIP, Bimpe Onakoya, Miss Nigeria, Azu Nwagbogu, More, for Studio24 Nigeria CSR Project Titled “#SUMTHIN FOR THE GIRLS”

Last Friday, 4th August 2017, Studio24 Nigeria- a Professional Photography and Multimedia Company unveiled its Empowerment and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project for women tagged“SUMTHIN FOR THE GIRLS, SFTG” (#Sumthin4DGirls) with a global press conference which took place at the brand’s flagship store located at 47, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos. 

The project which Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) as its anchor partner, is a training, mentorship and funding programme to empower 100 women in each of the 36 states of the federation, starting with the pilot phase in Lagos State.

Present at the press conference were top dignitaries and brand representatives, they included Barrister Juli Okah-Donli Esq (The Director General of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP), Dr. Kunle Adeyemi (Dean, School of Art, Design & Printing, YABATECH), Omotayo Omodia(Country Manage, Canon Central & North Africa), Toshifumi Saeki (General Manager of Taichi Holdings Limited, headquartered in Japan), Bimpe Onakoya (Artistic Director of Maybelline New York in Nigeria),Nallah Sangaré (Formerly of MAC Cosmetics, Paris, France & Course Consultant, SFTG), Chioma Obiadi(Miss Nigeria 2016), Sam Demilade Ladipo (Representative of TEEN The Entrepreneurs Network Nigeria),Morin Osunmakinde (Founder, BABES Redefined), Azu Nwagbogu (Founder & Director of the African Artists’ Foundation, AAF) and distinguished representatives of the Nigerian media.

Speaking on this Empowerment project, Mr. Ifeanyi Chris Oputa (Team Leader at Studio24 Nigeria, Kodak Express Laboratories, TwinkleStar, StyleSqaud, Pretty Powder & College 24) explained what the project is all about, he said:

“The project is targeted at empowering 3,600 young women of age bracket 18-35 at the grass root level across different states and regions with passion for photography, makeup and business with the pilot phase in Lagos state and will spread across different states and region in the country. We aim to empower a final selection of 100 with the pilot phase of Lagos state and make sure each of them are empowered enough to start off their own businesses.”

“After the final selection of 100 is done, these women will be given paramilitary-style boot camp training that will include various aspects from regimental, mind clinic, leadership, arts education, make-up, photography as well as equip them with entrepreneurship skills that will help them run viable creative businesses of their own in Nigeria.”

With the official launch of this project taking place on Saturday, 19th August 2017, it will see some of the biggest names in the local and international creative industry come together to make it a success.

Applications for this pilot phase is now open to all women between the ages of 18-35years living in vulnerable conditions, who are resident in Lagos State ONLY.

  • Sponsorship bids & pledges (For any persons or organizations who would like to get involved by sponsoring a candidate or more or any other phases of the project).
