Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile has fired back at colleague Portable after he accused him of money laundering over a N504 million bank balance recently displayed on a crypto app he co-founded.
The controversy began on Sunday when Zlatan’s account balance, which was above N500 million, appeared on the app. The figure quickly sparked reactions from fans and social media users.
Portable later took to Instagram to question the source of the money. According to the singer, a Nigerian artiste couldn’t have such a large amount through music alone.
“It’s impossible that you have N500 million in your account and it isn’t yours; it could be money laundering. A Nigerian artiste can’t have that amount,” he said.
“How many people are listening to your music? How many songs have you dropped this year? How many shows have you gone to? Some people are drug sellers; it isn’t possible.
“He isn’t the owner of that money. If he is, he should go and print his account statement. He is a money launderer.”
In response, Zlatan took to Instagram to dismiss the allegation. He also mocked Portable over a viral video that showed him undergoing a “spiritual bath” with soft drinks.
“Portable, I heard you had a panic attack last night. You can download the app too and get updates before going for spiritual cleansing. N500 million is just a small part of God’s blessings,” he said.
The exchange has since drawn attention online, with fans reacting to the claims made by both artistes. Zlatan’s response also turned the focus back on Portable’s remarks about the source of the money.
