Zee TV Africa is proud to have waved the Indian flag high this past Tuesday, 26 January 2016, in celebration of the 67th year of democracy for India. Celebrations took place in the form of song, dance, food and many special tributes.
The 67th Republic Day was celebrated at the High Commission of India, Johannesburg with the flag hoisting ceremony. The High Commissioner Ms. Ruchi Ghanashyam unfurled the Indian national flag and read the President’s speech to the assembled guests including Indian nationals, People of Inidian Origin (PIOs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and representatives from the South African Foreign Office. Celebrations continued through to the evening at the India House for the celebratory dinner.
It was a colourful and breath-taking event which Zee TV Africa is extremely proud to have been a part of. Being the leading Hindi entertainment channel on the continent of Africa, and also bringing Indian content to Africa in English and French, we strive to promote our deep rooted culture and heritage to all communities.
History shows a prolonged relationship between India and Africa hence we are privileged to pay tribute to this significant day.
