Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, whose election was overturned by a Court of Appeal following a petition from Dakuku Peterside has emerged triumphant.

The Supreme Court ruled in Wike’s favor yesterday and upheld his election as Rivers state governor, dashing Peterside’s hopes.

The Supreme Court has not yet disclosed the basis for its judgment but Wike and his supporters celebrated the victory yesterday.
