Emotions come and go, often times without outward stimuli but here is how you can keep those sad moments from consuming you.
-
Focus on others: You might be tempted to remain anxious and over think every wrong thing you’ve ever done but you can instead focus on how you can extend help to your sick neighbour. Research has shown that there is an improvement in your mood when you extend help to others.
-
Get moving. Get up, get out of bed. Take a walk, do a light workout routine preferably with uplifting music.
-
Think positively. Your thoughts definitely influence your mood. If you want to get out of the sad mood, you can start by thinking positively.
-
Call a friend: This trick always works. Talk to someone, sometimes it doesn’t have to be a therapist. Talk to a friend about your mood and allow the conversation lift your mood.
-
Write. Writing is a sure way to express yourself and expose the source of the issues troubling you. Plus it is also a form of therapy.
