President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela has enforced a two day work week for the country’s civil servants as severe power shortages continue to worsen.
The South American country has struggled since oil prices plunged as inflation worsen and the government has introduced stricter foreign exchange controls.

Maduro announced, “From tomorrow, for at least two weeks, we are going to have Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays as non-working days for the public sector,”
Water shortages have also worsened as four hour daily blackouts were introduced on Monday as the 30 million people in Venezuela continue to face increased hardship.
