“Unity Schools Will Not Participate in Scheduled WAEC Exams” – Minister of Education

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu has announced that unity schools will not participate in the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) scheduled for 5th August and 5th Spetember due to the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Minister has also urged the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and other State governments to reconsider their decision in reopening schools for WAEC exams at such a time like this.

The Minsiter said this at the end of the virtual Federal Executive Council meeting when he was speaking with the state house correspondents. He said, “I appeal to state governments that have announced schools’ resumption to reconsider it. I think it’s not safe. Let’s protect our children”.
